Luca began his career in accounting with his natural affinity and love for numbers – studying A-level accounting and then completing AAT levels 2 and 3. Unfortunately due to the remoteness of the South West, jobs in accounting are few and far between, and apprenticeships if they come up are in high demand. Luckily for Inn Cornwall, and owing to his love of cooking at home, Luca has just completed his Level 2 Commis Chef and is about to embark on a level 3 apprenticeship. Through the apprenticeship, and under the mentorship of George, Darren & Will, Luca has managed to incorporate his natural ability with figures into his role as commis chef, keeping a keen eye on the kitchen GPs, and using his interest in sustainability to help him innovate ways to cut costs and make the most out of every ingredient. Whilst his parents weren’t sure about the move from accounting to the kitchen, we are sure they will be the first cover when he reaches his ambition to have his own restaurant!
