The apprenticeship with Shepherd Neame and HIT training has contributed not only to Sam’s promotions, but also to his growth and personal development, practical skills, and knowledge & understanding. Judges were delighted to hear about all of the events that Sam has been involved in; from shucking oysters at the Houses of Parliament, winning a chicken breakdown competition, and taking part in Brake’s Ready Steady Cook competition, to winning bronze at the Salon Culinaire competition in London for his mackerel dish. It’s fair to say that Sam has a competitive streak! At his recent EPA Sam received a triple distinction, and his goal is to become a Head Chef, within the Shepherd Neame family. Inspired from a young age by cooking with his family and being the friend that always brings food to the party, we can see Sam being an integral part of the Sheps team for a long while yet.
